Pacific Rim
In a world where humanity has chosen to fight monsters with monsters ( or robots if you will) ((and I know you will)) we see the events that allow this 20 year threat on earth put to rest.
From same director of Hellboy, we see the first (hopefully not last) western mecha movie. Guillermo del Toro gives us a film inspired by his childhood fascinations influences by Japanese anime, and television shows.
This movie is good, I can't say I was disappointed, I can't say I was satisfied but I was thoroughly fed in action and excitement wise. I Hope this movie gains enough revenue to get a sequel, because I think the American Film Industry can use more of these types of movies. No, I don't mean towering robots fighting monsters. But I mean movies that take such foreign ideas and the film maker is so inspired by, that they put heart in to there film inspired by their childhood nostalgia. This movie is just a perfect example of this, and bad example would be the 1998 Godzilla with simba, I mean Matthew Broderick . This movie "Makes This Work."
World War Z
It's not the best movie ever made. But it had something that is rare in a horror/thriller flick, it had heart. Now I've never read the book so I can't say anything about that. But what I loved about the movie was that here is a character placed in a life or death situation with only seconds to choose and all he is worried about is the safety of his wife and two daughters, that tells me that this movie had heart.
Decision
I have decided to do some thing with this blog.
At first I contemplated whether to just let this blog hide away in the every growing vastness of cyberspace, or to put it out of it's misery. But recently a new thought came to me, I have a voice, and an opinion on things like movies and games. So. I have come to the conclusion that I will continue this blog for uses of voicing my opinion on games, and films, and where else should I do this but here on an already existing blog. So with out further ado lets begin.

Hey There
Sam Minnich
10th grade student
None of you bee's wax where this
came from
June 2, 2013
Dear Sam:
Hello old friend, you probably
don’t recall writing this. But it’s me; well it’s you talking to yourself from
2013. Oh, believe me, I’m you, your 16 year old brony/latter day saint self. So
let’s get down to business.
I can see you have grown old ripe
with age, still with a full head of hair. I know you’ve had problems, made
mistakes, I’m sorry. But you’ve made it apparently you’ve made it in life,
gotten you self a job gotten married. I see you have developed that skill I desire
now, comfort of the mind. But now that I have seen what shall happen I’ll tell
you how you how got there.
See, we are at this time going
through many problems, failing classes, jumping at anything that upsets you, regretting
something you haven’t done in over a year, and fearing, fearing tomorrow and
what devastation it may bring you. But you’ve began to see help for your tendencies,
have good friends, allowed religion to play even more of a key point of your
life. Thing will get better for us, as long as you plan on studying this week. Guess
I’ll be seeing us soon.
Sincerely,
Sam Minnich

FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness is to let things go. don't hold a grudge. If you don't forgive some one for something it is bad for the health. to be honest, if you don't forgive some one for some thing it can have negative effects, for example if Mr.Juarez does not forgive me for posting this blog on time it will ruin his view of me.

What is love?
What is love? Why does it hurt people? Why does their need to be love?Who needs love? Well.....every one does. Love is a thing, it's a emotion, feeling, a verb! It's more than just one of them! Love is truly amazing, it affects everything. What people do, what people say. How people act! Even how people act.
See I don't mean "lovey lovey boo girl love" I'm talking about caring for another love. I personalty think family love is a very important thing in the world especially in today's society. We need to be able to trust people and care for one another.
Love is being able to care for something or someone. I would not love an earthly object more than my fellow man. After all why care for an object that would never give back? If you are going to love something, be sure it will love you back other wise it is no longer a love relationship, it would be a parasitic relationship.

Pointing Fingers
Who made this big mess!?! Good question, let me explain the situation.
So, Phil barrows Fred's car, as Phil is driving he comes to a red light he hits the brakes but to no avail the car keeps going, and soon enough Phil is met with a big crash/ accident (hopefully he was wearing clean underwear). So, the big question is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJa7P6dfmco" .
Who's fault is it? Phil or Fred? Well what ever others think is their opinion, and I am not trying to change that in anyway.
To me I would point the finger at Fred. Since considering it was his car that was used. If anything Fred should have at least mentioned something the brakes. Now, if anything (legally thinking Fred could have done it for insurance money.)
But back to a more logical view. Fred should have warned Phil. what kind of a friend, let alone a person would let someone borrow an already broken car? Phil is no where near responsible for the damage to the car..

It was worth it
The most important project I have ever focused on has to be the time that I trained pigs to fly............................................................................................................................................. Not really.
The most important project I have ever dealt with would have to be a documentary.
No, I did not make some two hour long Ken Burns documentary. It was a small 10 min documentary I made for my biology class. In biology class we were given the task to create a power point presentation based around a disease or any other topic that was approved. I chose diabetes. The power point required a certain amount of slides, and at least one creative slide. So I wanting to think out side the bun, and decided to ask if I could do a small documentary instead of just a slide, it was approved, and I made one.
What I did was a "Ken Burns©" style documentary, where I would zoom in on certain pictures, while having a narration involving the topic of the documentary. So what I did was sit down and record a conversation with my mother, (Yes she knew she was being recorded), and I asked her questions about my Grandfather who was her father, reason being that he had dealt with diabetes for almost half of his entire life.
I took a thirty minute long conversation and turned it in to a ten minute long video.
Then after days of editing, snipping, and clipping I was done, and ready to present. I was so ready to present. I was so sure that my idea would become a great standing point in my creative endeavors. Then it was it, finally my turn to present. at the end of my presentation i showed a piture, of my family and poited out to them who had diabetes, then came the very best part, the part where i showed my documentary. It was a success. I was given an A on the assignment, and would have received A with the documentary alone.
That was the most important project I had ever worked on

The Unknown!!!
For ages. Man has feared the unknown. Always afraid of whats out there. Afraid to step out of their common norm, outside of their comfort zone! But man has always had a little pinch from a little guy called curiosity. Curiosity made man wonder "What is this?" or "What is that?"
and as usual these thoughts lead to actions.
But, some are sheltered from curiosity. They were taught the rhyme "Curiosity killed the cat."
forever fearing of what was out side of their comfort zone Meanwhile others who were taught the full rhyme "Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back" were more ready to experience the world for the first time, and embrace the strange and new things in it.
These, adventurous, people who do often devote themselves to discovering new things by seperateing themselves from others disbelief in them and pursue there curious endevers. They have sacrifices by seperateing them from the norm. they sacrifice themselves from the excecptence of society, and of their friends, and that is wah I call stepping , in to the true, unknown.

The Truth Is....
Would I lie? No. Do I consider lying good? No. Have I ever lied? Yes. Did I like it? No. I hate lying. The good lord said, don't lie, I said "Okay, I won't lie."Even if my life depended on it. I would not lie. One life lost for a truthful statement, okay, good in my book (not that death is okay, no.) I would want to be remembered for my truthfulness.
Now here is the real kicker! what if (and people will love me for this one.) what if it wasn't just my life that depended on it? What if it was
A.Family
B.Friends
or C. A group of innocent people.
What would I do? My choice. tell the truth and lose another's life all at the choice of the sounds that spill from my lips. see, for this I would wait for that day to choose. live life till it happens (and I strongly doubt it will never happen.) Until then, as a great man once said "Allons-y!"

Academics
Through my many years of education, I have discovered my academic struggles. Endorsed my academic accomplishments, and endeavor to fulfill my academic aspirations. the reasons I have chosen to recognize my struggles is because if I choose to acknowledge them then I can learn from them and not make that same mistake over again.
One of my major academic struggles is procrastination. Boy has it effected me, I could, matter of fact I should be doing things on time. I would be able to be so much more creative on my projects than I already am.So many people could save so much time and frustration if they would have just done the project when it was given to them.
My academic achievements are as follows. in 7th grade I received a high honor roll, for turning in all my assignments in on time and maintaining A's and B's. in 8th grade I received a merit roll. Then in 9th grade as some of you may have expected I was excepted in to the early collage program.
Last but not least my academic aspirations are! To become a writer. As a writer I want people to think when they read my writing. I want people to read it and just think deeply by just skim reading it, and find it's inter meanings.

Smart Cowards
Why do people bully online? People bully online because their cowards. Well... smart cowards. No, their not smart just because they know how to work a computer no. They are smart because they are using their resources.
Bullying is everywhere now. Sure bullying happened long before things like Internet, but it wasn't as severe as it is today! For example, before the Internet, a student could only be bullied at school, simple! Then the victim child would return home and confront his or her parents for comfort, and heal their wounds so to say. But now a student will return home go on the Internet to see that the same bullies, (and sometimes bullies he or she doesn't even know) have sent him or her hurtful Emails, messages, comments, private chat rooms, text messages, and any other ways of communication provided by the Internet.
But why do bullies do it online. Its because they're safe, they're hiding from reality, hiding from forces of authority. People can get away with so much more now on the Internet than in real life. So people bully, its sick. Cyber bullies are rats. Rats that are afraid to to see the light of day, rats that are afraid to have any sense of decency, or any sense of kindness for humanity. Rats that hide behind their silver, flickering, screens. We see them everyday. On the outside people just see them as innocent little mice. But if we give them a computer, just look closer, and they've turned into rats. Then, it gets worse, they will try and deny it, saying " Well they just misunderstood me." then comes the part I really hate. It's where the bully is bullied back and then the cyber bully says to anyone listening "Boo hoo hoo, he hurt my feelings." and yet the cyber bullying rat still manages to bully others. Know what I hate more than a rat? It's a little pest called a hypocrite.
Now comes the part that will bother some of us.
Tell me. What would we do?

Now comes the part that will bother some of us.
Tell me. What would we do?
If we saw someone being bullied online? Would we stand up for that person? Or walk away?
What would we do?
What would we do if our friend was being, bullied. would we stand up, and shout out? or would we sit down and scoot away from our friend and deny knowing them?
What if we are the bullied? Would we be brave? Would we say something back? would we want to have enemies from saving ourselves and our friend?
"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."
Winston Churchill
"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."
Winston Churchill
Or what if... What if we are the the bullies? What if we are trying to joke with someone, a friend, and inadvertently hurt them. Online we don't know if we hurt our friend. Although all we see is a flickering screen, behind it could be our dearest friend in tears from our accidentally hurtful comment that slipped out that we wound up typing out before thinking first about it. How bout we start thinking before we act before we do offend someone, especially a friend.
So remember, lets treat others how we want to be treated, nicely.

This Land Is My Land
In the Bible, the book of Exodus gives us commandments ten to be exact. But I would like to point out two of them that are important to the topic of this post. The commandments "Thou shalt not steal" and "Thou shalt not steal"
Man has always had a disease called greed, greed makes man want, makes man want more and more until man feels he can fill his bottomless pit with useless things. Greed makes man covet, greed makes man steal. Some times man stops by listening to something called civility, civility can make man think, think twice about his actions. But if man chooses to ignore civility, then this thing that was at one time a lawful person paying his taxes, is not a cold hearted, greedy, criminal thirsty for more. If man can not control himself then he can not be safe. But is there a just? An actual good reason for a man to steal? Would man look down on the man that just stole a wallet to feed his family? yes man would, man would say "What he did was immoral." Meanwhile a man would look up to the lawyer for helping a man win a case where the accused were innocent and found guilty and had to pay a $2,000 fine to the accusing lawyer and man. Just tell me this, is it wrong for a man to need ? Or is it wrong for a man to want?

WHY????
Why does the hero help and never want a reward. What drives man from his inner selfishness to become concerned of others, to want to help his fellow man. Does he see another man's suffering no better than his own troubles? Why does the inexperienced man want to help? Is it that there is some good in the man whom does this? Maybe man wants to help, to comfort his brother, help them in anyway possible. Maybe it is out of pride. maybe out of the goodness they are giving. perhaps the man who does help is doing it out of his ego saying to him self "this will never happen to me." so the man will take pity on them and serve them. or perhaps it is just important for all men to be kind cuz maybe thats what the good lord wants.

Hello again
Who would I want to meet? Who from my life would I want to meet? who? Well I would to meet my grandfather, but why only one side of the families grandfather why not both? I would want to meet both of my grand fathers. Both my grandpa Minnich (my Father's side) and my grandpa rice (Mom's side). The main reason I would want to see my grandfather's is because I only had a brief time with them, my grandpa rice died before my parents knew each other, and my grandpa Minnich died when I was six years old.
The first person I would like to meet would be my grandpa Minnich. So many things I want to ask him, talk to him about. I can have such great conversations with him talk to him about people, places, plotics, cultures, life, movies, books! Man did he love books, the man had walls filled with book shells crammed with any book you could imagine, he even had his own liberay press stamp. Also he was a chef for pete's sake.
secound would be my grandpa Rice. so much i want to ask him about his life that others don't remember, ask him so, so maney questions.

christmas camping
So Christmas break I went camping. In Ohio. In the cold, snowy weather. now some may say "What was this guy thinking?" well let me tell you "I wasn't" . You see I've been wanting to do this for years. I am not one that you would call outdoorsy, I do enjoy a camp out, and for years I had wanted to do a winter camp-out. Just me and a boy-scout group out in a cold open field with nothing more than our layers of clothing and small fire to keep us warm. I believe I can best describe it as bitterly cold, we learned how to handle an ax properly. Now making the food, that is something to remember, seeing as that I made it. When I put broccoli in to the pot before I put it in the fire the water was crystallized. Then night time in the tent that was an experience all of us packed in to one tent, (I will spear details) it was cold and man I shivered a lot.
but all of this together was a fun experience none the less
